I don’t know about you, but it doesn't seem like this year’s energies intend to tone down their intensity!
That said, you may not be experiencing this right now, for we don’t necessarily all go through everything at the same time. However, many of us will likely have a similar yet tailored experience simultaneously.
There’s no right or wrong to that. It’s just a matter of timing, according to our soul’s blueprint.
When I am in these growth spurts, I often find that apart from coming up for breaths of air to keep my balance by doing all that we discussed in last month’s ponder, I feel the programmed need to remain constantly seriously focused. If I didn't, everything might collapse completely, and I would combust, or worse.
But I have since discovered that this is yet another delusion.
I was initially resistant to letting my serious guard down, as I had been in these moments before. But much to my delight, I was given the opportunity to do so, and it served me ENORMOUSLY!
It was a preplanned trip to The Upside Down Amsterdam Museum (yes, you read that right) that saved the day, week and probably even month for me this time!
Honestly, if this had not all been prearranged a while back and suggested to me on the day, I would not have gone.
But thankfully, it was, and I did!
Hence, I wish to share the fun and joy this brought me to inspire your next fun adventure!
Steps to Get The Fun Started
One of the joys of living in such a fabulous city is that places like The Upside Down Amsterdam Museum exist!
If you don’t live in Amsterdam or a place with some wacky but safe environments to let loose in, get creative with what you do have. Even some fun board games could work with the right company.
The next is that you get together with a couple (or more) of fun, outgoing friends who are the same sort of crazy and funny as you are and are up for joining you on an adventure!
And finally, you need to take the plunge and go for it! Ignore all the loud mental naysayers calling you irresponsible or your grief and depression telling you that you are better off just staying home in your comforting hermit mode.
Shake them all off and valiantly go and have fun regardless.
Every time they pop back in to shower you with more disdain, tell them you are unavailable until your adventure is over. Diving into fun head first will likely obliterate them to smithereens anyway, but they don’t know that and don’t tell them.
When Was The Last Time You Laughed At Yourself?
Having the courage not to take life too seriously in this fast-paced and results-driven world can be intimidating. Daring to bring back the magic of humour and joy when we need it the most often goes against the grain of what we have been taught is expected of us.
The outdated ways that we should forever work hard and continually strive in life are unhealthy and unfulfilling.
Life is hard. That is a fact, for it is designed to evolve our souls, and that is often achieved by championing life’s challenges. But life is also magical and filled with beauty if we look towards the sunshine and the starlight, which decorate the pain, the trials, and the grief.
Everything passes, and we always have the choice to look to the light rather than the darkness wherever we find ourselves.
It contradicts what we have been taught, but the answers often lie in embracing the opposite of where we currently are.
Allowing our inner child to take the lead, especially when we’re all caught up in the seriousness of adulthood, is highly regenerative.
It allows for a gigantic shift in perspective, depending on how much we can entirely give into the innocence, lightness, and sense of joy inherent within our inner child.
Like all children, they are always delightfully ready to come out to play whenever we allow them to.
Granted, it is not easy to relax and tune in to playful energy when we are all caught up in the seriousness of life. I doubt it would have been possible for me to do that on this special Saturday had I not been thrown into the immersive experience of The Upside Down Amsterdam Museum.
But the result of doing so is astronomically positive and ripples out across all areas of life.
The Upside Down Amsterdam Museum may not be your cup of tea. Different things work for different people, so it’s all about finding what works for you.
What allows you to tap into that revitalising fun energy when you need it the most?
It is pivotal to realise when we are becoming far too consumed and serious about our life circumstances and to do our best to bring lightness and humour to the situation.

The Joyful Liberation Of Meaningful Connection
Sometimes, we just need to get out of our serious little heads that think they’re so big and fantastic, which sometimes they are, but they’re also small and restricting.
Hence, getting out of them and invigorating fun into every cell of our body by bringing frivolousness, laughter, and a good dose of silliness back into the picture can work wonders!
It may even stimulate the true genius within each of us to come to the fore.
Connecting physically with others is the healthiest and best way I have found to do that to date. I am continually surprised at the possibility of having good, clean fun, like finding immense joy in being silly and sober.
My first choice was to get a ticket that included a cocktail at the end, but we eventually decided on the regular tickets. Instead, we all enjoyed a delicious chai latte at the end of our visit, which didn’t disappoint!
The delicious chais were accompanied by some honest and fun soul-sharing, which was the perfect end to a fun-filled afternoon. It was all pure nourishment.
And I needed it far more than I had allowed myself to realise
“Now and then it’s good to pause in our pursuit of happiness and just be happy.” - Guillaume Apollinaire
So the next time you are all wrapped up in your head and feel like you are drowning in quicksand as the walls are closing in on you, dare to go the other way completely!
Decide to jump to the opposite end of your current state and experience its seemingly miraculous effect on your energy field and vibration.
Doing so will not only elevate your mood and emotions but also enable you to see the situation you are in from a different perspective.
This will put you in a receptive mode, enabling you to receive the solutions you could not access before. I can’t recommend it enough!
Have you ever dared press the pause button to have fun while you are experiencing tempestuous intensity?
If so, what was your experience? Go ahead and share your funniest comeback in the comments. I would love to hear about it!
I will definitely make having silly fun more of a consistent go-to from this point forth!
How about you?
I’ll leave you with this short video that my phone kindly created as a marvellous and cherished souvenir.
